Hello all. New to the Forum. I've been looking it over for awhile enjoying reading the info posted. I've always liked knives, but I'm not a collector or anything. I just acquire them occasionally. no rhyme or reason to it and never anything of real quality. Well, other than the Buck hunting knife I picked up, and the KABAR USMC fighting knife, and the Benchmade 586 I should be taking delivery of Monday.(I can't wait) My wife is always asking me "why do you need that?"
Anyway, my son has a hand me down given to him by someone that he has been using for work as a plumbers apprentice. The knife is a piece of crap that is breaking on him. It's a pain in the ass to open and won't close all the way. So I am going to loan him my old S&W Tanto blade that broke on me the other day (still works, just the flipper lever broke somehow). What I would rally like to do is get him a good quality knife for work.
So, after all that blabbering( bear with me, I on some pain pills today) I come to my question............. Finally.
Can anyone recommend a good quality assisted opening folder that will make a good work knife for under 100$?

Poke around and you might be able to find a ZT 350. I think a Kershaw Blur would also work. You might want to rethink the AO option because of his line of work. With all the guck and muck that knife will get exposed to it could possibly pose problems. I don't know a lot about Spyderco and Benchmade but I'm sure they make many great manuals that would fit the bill. For a c-note or less there are lots of options. Good luck on your search. Cheers

Thanks folder geek. I like the blur. Just ordered him one with the S30v blade. I think that will work perfect.
I decided on the Benchmade over a ZT for me because the ZT was so expensive. No way am I getting him one when I can't afford one for myself. LOL.
