Hey guys, I need help deciding between a couple of knives.. I want to keep the price around 50-60 dollars because my girlfriend will be getting it for me for our anniversary ( she said choose one for 50-60 dollars =p )

So I've narrowed it down to the Endura 4 Full spyder edged with stainless steel handles

or

The Kershaw Speed Bump with the plastic handles (sorry I dont wanna look it up, I believe santoprene and akulon?)

I have an frn Pe Endura 4 already and love it, which is why I would like to have one ss with se. Butttttttttt...........

I love the Kershaw's blade... looks soo sweet.

So guys, Give me your opinions, if you have experience with either please post. If you have pictures, Please post!

I have the spec bump, its a nice knife but its extremely hard to sharpen. Have you looked at the JYD II CB? another great knife in your price range.

yeah, I have. Considering shipping, it would be kinda steep. Also looked at a griptillian, still a little too much.

I'd say go with something new. The SpeedBump is certainly unique. It also makes a good user, too. The lock is solid and the blade is surprisingly versatile.

I never was a fan of the plastic handles, though. Nor do I like the delica/endura handles (FRN or stainless). The plastic ones feel kinda cheap and stainless isn't very interesting. I fixed that on my SpeedBump, so it's not a problem anymore. You might also look at the old aluminum-handled SpeedBump. It's about the same price most of the time.

My bump has been through several sets of clothes now. I also polished up the blade to a nice shine. (What can I say, I'm never satisfied) You've inspired me to start carrying it again. Maybe I should finish up those ironwood scales :) .

That's a beautiful knife you got there, sir ;). I personally love the FRN Spyderco uses and love the heft of the SS. The major thing holding me back from buying a speed bump is in fact, the handle. Can you describe what it feels like? Really plasticky and cheap or rigid? I really love that blade shape.

Glad I inspire someone ^^

Get the Spec Bump...the lock is crazy strong, you have less chance of accidentally engaging it (ask my re-attached index finger about lock backs), and it's CDI (chicks dig it) factor is much higher. It also fits the hand like a glove. Excellent ergos.

Let alone the fact that Kershaw's warranty is unsurpassed.

Spec bump is way too expensive in this case, Perhaps you meant speed bump? I'm not a lock snob, I find most locks perfectly adequate and am not biased to any one or more locks. Plus i only need one chick to dig it ;) I am however, very interested in the stud-lock.

The Speed Bump shares the same features. You will like it much the same. I have the Speed Bump, slip of the tongue.

It doesn't feel any worse than the FRN D4. It's a bit smoother, and makes a hollow sound when you tap on it, but the grip is good. Handle ergonomics are very good.

The spec/speed bumps are pretty much the same thing. The only differences are blade steel and handle slabs. Liners, lock and construction are the same.

The stud lock is nice. I especially like the fact that it's ambidextrous (of course, so is a lockback). Closing is a single smooth motion with the index finger.

Hmmm, interesting. I'm starting to lean more and more towards the speed bump. Still not absolutely sure as I am a spydie nut... Decisions, decisions.
