Need Help Choosing Between 2 Knives

Hey all,

I'm looking for some advice on which knife to get, and I've narrowed it down to 2. I was in the market for a tough tactical folder that didn't look like it was only designed to deal with unsavory folk (basically so the police don't get "law" happy), and I've come up with two spyderco models.

The first is the Spyderco harpy, watching videos from WeAllJuggleKnives on youtube has convinced me that this is quite the knife for the application, and in such a small carry-able package to boot.

For reference: http://puu.sh/cLI5L/2f8f66b194.jpg

The second model is the endura 4 with full spyder edge serrations and a stainless steel handle. This blade looks like it has a good combination of cutting and stabbing power, with the security and slim carry of a stainless steel handle.

And a nice size comparison, ignoring the delica in the middle: http://puu.sh/cLI97/e3003155eb.jpg

Let me know what you guys think, such hard decisions

hehe . harpy for me .. I use it for utility just like the ZT 0750. Dun intend to do any stabbing with it.

How do you find the handle on the harpy? I was a bit worried about it being too small, even though I have medium sized hands and not large.

I might actually end up getting both lol.. they are both quality looking blades, but I think I'm going to grab the Harpy first and the Endura later.

I vote for that endura 4 with full spyder edge serrations.. Looks almost like a Lil Matriarch. Very sharp!

i have a plain endura and it feels great. good for big hands. i think you'll find it can more tasks then the harp. if i could do it agiain id go flat ground though. that or a manix 2 if you want to pony up a little more.

The only thing is that if for whatever reason a cop decided to look at the knife, I'd have to have them believe that I was carrying it for utility purposes and not for tactical. With a knife like the endura pictured in the OP, that might be hard depending on how bad of a day the man in blue is having.

Even though the knife was designed for utility in mind it still "looks" scary.

People up in Canada can be a bit much at times.. I've gotten looks even using the Dragonfly on my keychain..

yeah i hear you being central cannuck with knife size. but iv never had cop ask me if was carrying a knife. i like to carry large knives for home and work. its not like your carrying a microtech halo. a SS endura is hardly tactical.
"well officer i needed a classy knife to cut the zip ties off my hot girlfriends car so that i could repair it properly before i headed out to a friends wedding where ill need it to cut cake and loose threads of bridesmaids dresses." doesn't sound so tactical now does it?

That's true. I don't know why self defense over here (or even carrying knives for utility, for that matter) is such a controversy.. you want to carry a folder for self defense, what is wrong with that? Plainly, that is calling you a criminal for attempting to prevent a crime from happening to you. Also, why do you have to prove that you're carrying it for utility? If carrying it for self defense is a crime, that's like being guilty until proven innocent. Sounds absurd, really.

I could go on about it for ages, but I won't.

I like the way you think though =P

its the system that treats you innocent till proven guilty. the people in authority treat you guilty till proven innocent. its not like you want to change the law to make it a open carry state. i mean country. lol.
my advice... forget peoples looks, pony up for real and get a fluted TI military. yeah its big, but people will notice its beauty factor for sure. 300ish canadian from a western site. cut those threads in style my northern friend.
