Well I have a few bucks in my paypal acct. & I want to get a new knife.I've been looking at three in particular.I'm having a hard time choosing.Any help from you guys would be much appreciated.I really like an EDC blade to be between 3.5" & 4"(no serrations) & I really like the axis lock.I really like a knife to have some heft to it(solid).I also would like to have a knife in D2,since I don't have one.I'm looking to spend no more than $140.Here are the three I've been looking at.Thanks in advance for all your help.:)

I'm kind of leaning toward the 1st one, because of the size, axis lock & D2.On the other hand,I really like the 4 way pocket clip option, the S30V & the solidness of the Chinook III.I've always liked the style of the H&K's,but was turned off by the under 3.5" blade.

The chinook is a great knife...but if your leaning toward the 710 then get it you'll love it

The 710 is the superb general EDC knife of the 3. It is very easy to carry and for it's size does not take up much pocket room. I prefer the S30V of the chinook but I very much prefer the handle, blade shape and lock of the 710. D2 is always better than the 154CM of the HK IMO. Really any of these knives would be excellent choices, but for all around use the 710 is like benchmade's icon.

Thanks for the input.Yeah,I forgot to mention,I really like the handle on the Chinook III,but I'm a sucker for axis locks. That's what I wanted to hear about the 710(full size, but not too bulky in yer pocket).I'm off to work now....see ya'll in 12-13hrs:(

Quick question about D2.Is it stainless?Do you have to keep it coated with oil, like 3V?

My favorite design out of the 3 is the 14200. I was never able to get myself to like the 710. And I've never really liked the looks of the Chinook, but holding a Spyderco in the hand generally turns that around for me. I personally wouldn't pick based on steel, unless you're one of the rare individuals who actually notices enough of a difference where it matters in practical usage.

I've owned a 710, but not for a long time. However, based on the couple of years that I've been reading reviews of the 710 and other D2 blades, I don't think it's going to be an issue unless you're in a highly humid area or if you skin animals and things like that.

The Chinook is a true blood fighter designed from the ground up to cut people not stuff but any of those knives are good. The H&K is uber tactical, comfy from what I hear and most likey the most sheeple friendly. D2 is awesome though.

D2 is not technically a "stainless" steel, but is very close to it. Just reasonable care is all it needs. It has excellent overall "knife" use characteristics.

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys.:thumbup:I'm going with the BM710 D2.It'll be a little while till my next knife, but the next one will definately be the Chinook.
