I am wanting to add one more Benchmade to my collection before I stop buying them (barring any good deals, of course :p) for a while and move on to collect knives of a different manufacturer. As of right now I have: Mini Barrage (Black, Plain Edge), Mini Griptilian (Satin, Plain Edge, Black scales, heavily worn), Mini Presidio Ultra (Satin Plain Edge).

My current thoughts are:

890 Torrent (Like the blade shape, and size, not sure if I care for the scales)
530 (Doesn't seem too capable of a knife, but very light and sleek)
950 Rift (Seems very popular, but I can't say I like that reverse tanto style)
551 (The mini version wasn't my favorite, but that's probably because the handle doesn't seem large enough)
522 (Like the ergonomics and blade shape)

So other than the 530, all of the ones I am considering so far seem to be larger knives. Anything else you think I might consider along the same lines? Or any votes for the ones that I am already considering?

Have you looked at the H&K 14205? It is made by benchmade but sold under the HK name. At 5 ounces with thick steel liners, this baby is a tank. The blade is heavy enough that gravity alone is sometimes enough to close it once you disengage the lock. Awesome ergos. It's a hard use knife, but it looks very stylish thanks to it being a Snody design. At least check out a few pictures of it before making a decision.

I've owned other benchmades, but I like this one the most due to the sturdy feeling. You have a feeling that it will survive a nuclear blast it's so solid.

If you don't like the 950, a great alternative for your collection would be the 710. Also I seem to be on a 530 kick, it's a very capable knife, surprisingly sturdy for its size...sure it's not a 710 but for shorts and dress pants its a good choice.

And I second CaffeinePirate, the 14205 is an awesome knife, one of the best Benchmades ever made, never mind the HK branding.

Get the 950 rift. I bought one on pre-order and sold it cause I didn't like the reverse tanto. Now that I have picked up another in trade it is my favorite BM along with the 14205. The rift blade is very useful. It is a great cutter and slicer. Lots of belly and tip strength.
