Need help chosing a folder w/glass breaker

I am having trouble deciding which knife to buy.

I am thinking of either a DPX H.E.S.T/F 2.0 triple black (not special edition) or a Benchmade 810 Contego but would consider other options under $200 if someone has a good reccomendation.

The reason I have narrowed it to these two is they both have a glass breaker, which is a the only feature that is must have as I have had multiple incidents where one would have been very helpful. I am not going to buy a special glass breaker tool because I already carry enough crap on me and it needs to be quickly accessible, not down in my pocket somewhere.

I prefer a black blade and handle. I have considered the HEST MILSPEC, but I like the look of the black blade on the triple black. I much prefer a frame lock, but I would consider the AXIS (I really like the Benchmade Adamas, but no glass breaker). I have a few ZT's, and like them for the most part, but again no glass breaker. As far as blade steel goes, I am not too picky, but I want something better than say AUS-8.

I am wondering if maybe someone has both and or another option that I have not explored and could offer some insight.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Benchmade triage has a glass breaker as well along with belt cutter. I think the cutter would work as a gut hook as well if your into hunting.

I clicked on your thread to recommend a HEST 2.0 folder !!

The HEST has about the coolest glass breaker (in the way it's incorporated into the knife) that I've seen. Mine's D2 and may be my favorite knife. They're now offered in a variety of steels.

Buy the HEST. No way you'll be disappointed. IMO it's tougher than the Benchmade as well.

Also, the HEST has a roto-lock which I find fabulous at times.

810. Better steel, and it is the stronger knife. They test the lock strength at 3:20.

I would strongly recommend the 810 Contego. I just received one in a trade, and it has jumped to the top few of my favorite knives. The milling and G10 provide great traction, and I've yet to have them be uncomfortable as some have experienced. Not to mention, you get a very useful, long blade of CPM-M4, along with, of course, the carbide glass breaker.

Probably frowned upon by some but the CRKT M16 14ZLEK is a winner regardless

Thanks for the input guys, It was still a hard decision. I went with the hest 2.0 triple black, production version.

I was able to handle a BM 810 and it is just too long for me and I just don't know if I could get used to the axis lock. It sure seems like a great knife though and I actually feel like its a better value, just not for me.

I don't know that the hest is any tougher or anything like that, and I can not imagine a scenario where I need a emergency folding pry bar or anything close to that. I know some who strongly disagree with this, but I carry a pry tool in my trunk for that. I haven't made an opinion on the roto-lock yet...we will have to see on that, as long as it doesn't engage unintentionally, I wont have an issue with it.

I chose the hest because its the perfect size for what I want it for, seems to be of good quality materials, I prefer frame locks, and I got a good price on it from USAmadeblade...which I found ironic because its not USA made but whatever.

Thanks again for the input, definitely gave me some more options to think about and provided some insight on these knives.

The DPx HEST/F 2.0 is a great knife, I love all of mine. The 1.0 and "1.5s" were great knives too, they just got a bad rap on the forums. I have a 1.0, a T3 Limited Triple Black "1.5", a Coyote Limited 2.0, 2x 2.0 Milspecs, 2x 2.0 standard OD Greens (one of the standard 2.0s and one of the 2.0 Milspecs got slapped together as a custom for myself) and I think a few others, I always seem to forget and get surprised when I find them again in my collection.

Whitty switched to selling very closely selected imports awhile ago, but trust me when I say that if he chooses to sell it, foreign made or not, you can believe it's a brand worth buying.
