So this just came in the mail yesterday...Mixed feelings on this one. Listed as new with four blurry pictures...one of the sheath only...Not in horrible condition, but far from what I would ever list as new, few nicks in the pommel, faint scuffs on the blade from going in and out of the leather sheath...the reason I am posting this thread is because there was no paperwork with this knife and there seems to be an etched makers mark on the choil. I have seen WBC and LR and a few others stamped on the choil , but never etched????? Here are some pictures, any info on this would be appreciated!!!!!! Thank you fellow Buck collectors!!!!

Good reflection in the guard............

And a few pictures showing off the better parts of this not so "NEW" Custom!!!:thumbup:

Nice Samber handle!!!

Thank you if you know anything on this Makers mark, I would guess eary 90's, but just guessing........

I've not seen any marks like that on the Custom knives. They were stamped, like you said. DM

Could they have been added later by the owner/s? How many hands has the knife passed through and what were their names (don't want to know, just asking about the initials).

My "initial" thought was the same. More likely the owner.... just be glad he didn't go the social security route.... I've seen lots of guns and knives over the years that someone engraved their social security number on...

That would have been my initial thought, but on the back side if the blade there is a name professionally engraved, and the initials do not match??? I do not know how many times the knife has changed hands, but I find it odd that someone would add their initial's in that spot..... Thanks everyone for your input. I am going to go with this is an aftermarket etching until someone has information showing otherwise. Here is a pic of the name etched on the back of the blade
