Need help dating an Improved Muskrat.

A customer gave me an old Schrade Improved Muskrat today, and the blade says "Schrade NY USA", and has "787" on the back. The sheild says "Improved Muskrat". Anyone know a time frame when this knife was made?

That would be post '72 production, I believe...

Correct, if the handles are jigged delrin it would make it 73 to around 1980 ( give or take). Since the SHIELD is denoted as marked chances are this is what you have. LT
