Hello knife friends,

I've been looking for a tang stamp chart on Kutmaster Utica but i couldn't find anything.

Those knife catalog history books are super expensive here in the Netherlands so that's not an option.

I'll include a pic of the tang stamp. Also has a few added numbers i didn't see on other knives on Google.

Kind regards,

Joshua from the Netherlands.

You could try asking Utica, but I get the impression that even they don't have a Utica Cutlery Co historian.
I think their website is now uticausa, com

Utica stamps didn't change much, so using them for dating isn't the easiest puzzle to solve. The books say the Kutmaster stamp started appearing in 1937 and continued pretty consistently for 60+ years. You'll have to compare that knife pattern and handles with old Utica catalogs to narrow down when it was first offered, and if it was discontinued at some point.

I wish I did, but no. Utica is one of the more difficult brands for researching, considering they are still in business. I've never found a catalog or tang reference guide over the years.

Appears to be jigged Delrin handles (nice and slick looking inside the missing shield) made after 1960. OH
