Need help deciding on a fixed blade

i am planning on buying a fixed blade. i'd like to keep the blade under 6 or 7 inches and the price below $150. nothing fancy, just a suitable combat/outdoors knife. any ideas?

well there about a bazillion options but all ya really need to know is
Ranger Knives RD 6 or RD7 one will cost ya somewhere between 80 and 100 bones and it will be money very well spent.

Only 1 Ranger? I got my RD 6 and then I asked Justin to make me an RD 4!! And I want.......... You get the point.

btw...i read that the rd series are relatively heavy. is the rd6 heavy in comparison to other knives its size?

It has .250" thickness so you can guess

Compared to other knives of the same thickness it is normal I guess.

But it is well balanced. I love the feel of the knife in hand.
