Hi guys I recently bought an esee 5 knife and while the stock sheath is great I'd rather be able to scout carry it. So I was wondering if anyone would recommend a skystorm vertical sheath or a esee 5 hedgehog. I've never seen one in person but they seem comparable. Any input would be appreciated!

Skystorm is a contributing member here so I am a bit biased. :)

He is one of the good guys as well.

iirc, pricing was a good bit more expensive at Hedgehog,

Sky does have a lot more variety of styles. Thats a good thing. :)

It is good to see that Hedgehog has increased his knife brands that he works with, it was rather limited there for a while.

Both use that shock cord pullaway on the snap straps, a very ingenious system.

Honestly, I wont say anything is overpriced, most things are priced what the market will bear. If he can ask what he does, and get it, then he is good to go. Not my place to criticize what he thinks or knows his work is worth, that goes for anyone in the craft. I do however think that some of our makers work is WAY under priced, it may be their own sense of the value of their work or a perceived market competitive value.

I always try to say to buy what you like the looks of, and how you like the maker. His or Her attitude and etiquette do cause me to look at their work with a more critical eye.
