I going to get a lum Chinese. And was wondering what handles to get I really like the look of the nishijin but was wondering for use if they are grippy enough. So basically if I'm going to get the knife and use it should I just get the g10 or will the nishijin be ok.

Iv held the nishijin version and it is kinda grippy, but it's just to glossy for me I like g10 better....also if you get the g10 knife center has a good deal on em!

The G-10 Large Lum is getting discontinued so I would get it first for that reason.
As for your question about the Nishijin Glass Fiber.
It does look glossy but is absolutely beautiful.
It's slick and smooth. It's not textured.
However, you still are able to get a good grip on it.
It doesn't slide in the hand and actually feels nice in the hand.
So while it's not as grippy as G-10, it's better looking and still offers a solid handle.

In the end, I would get both.
I would get the Large G-10 first since it's been discontinued.
Then get the Smaller Nishijin.

I think that the Nishijin scales are fine to use everyday. The shape of the handle gives a good positive grip, that being said the only G10 is the large lum C143 highly recomended because of size and sure grip of the G10.
