Ok guys, Ive finished what I think would be my perfect custom knife. I have written it all down, blade shapes, handle shapes, etc and I have pictures to show. But I have no drawing talent whatsoever. If Im lucky I can make human looking stick figures. So if anyone is up for giving me a hand, I appreciate the hell out of it.

ETA: There is no hurry with this.

Warning: I can be long winded and struggle with getting my point across. :p

I can't promise anything, but send me the info you have w/ pics and we will see if I can do anything with it. I'm no artist, but I like to sketch designs.

or, just post the info and pics so folks can toss it around in their brains.

Ok here is what I have. Let me know if something doesnt make sense to you and Ill do my best to clarify.

3.5" blade
01 steel
sable shaped blade
3/16" thickness
thumb serrations

handle just like Todds EDC but without teardrop shape torwards end
blue handle scales like his sons knife
removable handle scales
tang extend about 1/4" past scales
4" overall handle length, 4 1/4 with extended tang

high ride sheath
fire steel loop
pouch for small stone or tinder

Here is a pic of Todd's knife. Im not including a pic of his sons knife because color is a moot point at this moment.

Hey buddy, is this anywhere close ?

After drawing it out to scale are ya sure about 3/16" stock, seems mighty thick for such a short blade to me but hey each to their own !!!

My JK Urban Backup's blade is 3/16" and only 3" long. Personally, I like the weight of it. It offsets the Leatherman Surge on my left side.
Plus, ya never know when you might need to attach it to an ax handle and mine granite.

That is very close pitdog. I was thinking a little deeper index finger groove(index finger is the pointing finger right? lol).

I was also thinking not quite that tall. I reckon tall is the the correct word. Wanted a maximum blade height of about 7/8" to 1". Also Id like the extended tang to be squard off.

Thanks again for all the effort.

EDITED:

Actually John, that knife looks damn hear identical to what I want. Besides no extended tang and the handle color, I cant find much Id change.

Nice sketch Pit. I going to have a crack at it, but I think John may have beat us to it. A few minor adjustments to the above knife and it sounds like you found what you are searching for.

Ok, crappy pic. I don't have a scanner. If I can get to one later today I will scan it and post it.

I know you did not want a tear drop shape, but I though the handle just did not look right so I gave is more contour. I also left a straight line so it could be seen w/o the contour as well.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want removable scales?

Thats a nice drawing too Bryant. The extended tang is perfect.

I want removable scales cause Ill end up using this knife to clean squirrels/fish from time to time and I like being able to take the scales off to wash out blood and other nasties.

Got it! I`ve still got some threaded standoffs and screws around from when I made those friction folders.

When handle slabs are pinned and epoxied there is little chance of anything getting between the scales eh ?
