Ok so I need some help finding a book, the only issue is that I borrowed the book to read a couple of years ago while backpacking and have since returned it, and I have no idea the title or author. So I was hoping that I could kind of describe it a bit and see if any of you know what it is.
So the story is about a young man who goes to live out in the Idaho wilderness, in the middle of nowhere, in the Frank Church wilderness IIRC, at the mouth of a river to guard some salmon eggs and make sure that they did not freeze. He was working there in employment of the US Forest Service, as a special project to see if they could possibly increase the survival rate of the salmon eggs. Now what is amazing and what makes this a survival story is that this young man has relatively no experience in the woods and he goes to live all by himself in the middle of nowhere, for the length of the winter, in a one room wall tent IIRC. He has to cut and split his own wood, he has never run a chainsaw, cook all of his own meals, and so forth. It is basically his story about his adventures and problems he runs into while out in the bush.
It is a really good true story and I would really like to pick it up for my collection. Any help you could provide I would greatly appreciate. Thanks.
