Hey guys,

I'm trying to find a new knife. I've been looking around but I haven't found anything that's quite fit the bill yet.

The closest I've found in terms of size is this one: http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=CS10BC

So the parameters are the following:

- As close to 5" as possible but nothing over 5"
- Overall Length including handle ideally would be around 9 or so inches
- Kydex sheath
- Single edged
- $100 or less if possible

Thanks guys!

The two that come to mind off the top of my head are the Fallkniven S1 and Bark River Aurora.
Not dead-on to your spec requirements but pretty close. Both are solid users from all accounts. Although I don't own an S1 or Aurora, I do own knives from both manufacturers and feel confident in recommending them.

Fallkniven S1
-Total Length: 9.7"
-Blade Length: 5.1"
-Tang: Full Protruding
-Weight: 6.7 oz
-Steel: Lam VG10
-Hardness: 59 rc
-Handle: Thermorun

Bark River Aurora
-Overall Length: 9.5 Inches
-Blade Length: 4.5 Inches
-Blade Steel: A-2
-Hardness: 58 rc
-Blade Thickness: .170 Inch
-Weight:6 Ounces

Al Mar SERE Operator SRO, the S30V model has the kydex sheath from BladeTech and it's cheaper than the current VG-10 model. The VG-10 model has some improvements over the previous model, but comes with a blackhawk style nylon sheath, not kydex or other rigid material. Blade is exactly 5 inches and is a spear point with a half-length false edge opposite the cutting edge. Of course the Fallkniven's, Bark River, and Essee are excellent mentions too.

It'd be nice to know how you intend to use it, as that makes a huge difference on a recommendation.
