Alright, i was planning on getting a single blade knife but decided a multi tool would be a lot more useful. there are certain things i want in the tool though. i never wear a belt so a multi tool with a pocket clip is what i want. I also want a one-hand opening blade(preferably on the outside, but if you can open the tool really quick and get to it then that would be fine). So far the only tool i have seen with those is the leatherman wave, surge, and the charge. i do not want to pay the price for a wave though(if its the only one that fits the criteria i will though) so does anyone know of a multi tool that i would probably like? if there is no one with a pocket clip i may consider it if it is not to bulky in my pockets. thanks

If you really like the Wave, you can get one cheap on ebay sometimes for $15 (used) or about $35-40 brand new, and the pocket clip for $6.95 with free shipping for the lower 48.

I personally like the wave for its ergonomics, ease of use, good quality and over-all convenience whenever needed. The weight issue is negligible after about 2 mos. you won't even notice it and when you don't have it, you'd feel naked.

Just my 2 cents.

yeah, i should have put that i cant buy from ebay or any auction sites like that, im not allowed to(ebay banned me and i dont trust the place)

i am looking to spend probably 50-60$ at most so the leathermans are pretty much out(unless there is no other multi-tool that fits the quick access one hand opening i want)

 Oh, then in that case, see if you can't find a local hardware store or even some of the bigger chains that carry LM's that are on sale, maybe even closing out or clearance sale, or even some pawnshops that have them in stock sometimes, swap meets and even garage sales are a good place to find a few multi's. Asked around. Good luck! :D

You can sometimes get the Leatherman Wave for sub $60...

Gad-Zooks has it for $55 plus shipping...

I bought mine on special at Amazon about one year ago for $49.99 WITH a free Micra and free shipping. Don't ask - I have no clue why they were almost giving them away. It's now $69.95 on Amazon with free shipping.

Look around...you should be able it get it for about $60. It's a great tool. Good luck.

cool, that site has great prices, but i cant find many reviews of the site. Have you ordered from gad-zooks?

The Victorinox One-Handed Trekker is... one-handed opening. It's my favorite multitool now.

Also, you may want to consider Leatherman's new series of knives. I haven't handled any, but they are basically folding knives with a few tools crammed into the handles.

yeah, i have the OHT, however i dont like sheaths and its to big to carry in the pocket(in my opinion), i looked at the folding leathermans but a lot of reviews ive read are bad so im trying to stay away from those.

no, I've never ordered from Gad-zooks, but it looks legit. If you have any concerns, order from Amazon - at only about $10 more for something you will probably use for years, its a good deal. Amazon occasionally has specials on tools, so you may even do better. As I mentioned, I stumbled on the Wave with a Micra for $49.99 delivered!

Victorinox's SwissTool's are awesome and sturdy as a brick outhouse. I have owned mine for 5 years or so and really put it through the ringer. All blades and tool components still lock up solid and strong. I have cut thousands of inches of cardboard and tape with the serrated sheepsfoot blade. I have cut aluminum and metal strapping with the saw blade and the screw driver pieces are essential in my daily work in apartment maintenance and warehouse organization. Other tools may be cheaper but th Swiss is totally worth it. See the other threads here re:Swisstool.
