Hey guys and gals, I have used many of folders in my construction job and I currently rotate between my Ontario Rat 1 and my Blur 2nds. I have broken the tip off a Needs Work poking around for termite damage and simple things like popping paint can lids have proven difficult for some liner locks. I love my Rat 1 as it has never failed me at any of these tasks, but I am looking to add a bad ass folder that is tough as nails with a beefy tip, but doesn't cost over 100 bucks. Tip up carry is a must. Was thinking Cryo 2 or Buck Csar-t. Have had bad luck with Buck lately so may not go that route. Are there any other options you may have in mind.
Keep in mind that this knife will see things like my Rat 1 has been through. Pounded through a piece of trim with my hammer when I was stuck on a ladder and needed to pull a hanging piece loose. Cut peep holes in Sheetrock, peel back paneling when inspecting a foreclosure for a Bank walk through. Open paint lids with back of blade tip, cut hard plastic strapping, pop trim loose, cut fiberglass insulation in a pinch, and on and on. Sometimes I find myself in places with just a flashlight and my folder, walking back to the truck for tools is only if needed.
The Rat will always be in rotation, just looking for more options to help balance the sharpening time.
Thanks.
