Ebay can be a pretty good guide for judging value of production knives. Simply do a search for the model name/number on each, and compare the auctions. Ones with "Buy it Now" only options (no actual bidding, just purchasing) are usually pretty accurate representations of true market value (although figure up to a 10% inflation).

Welcome to Bladeforums! I'm going to move this thread to the Schrade collectors' forum for you, but I agree ebay is the place to look for values.

While ebay is normally a good reference. Your item in a complete set is fairly rare and something that does not usually appear on ebay. It was a limited issue. To look up the undividual knives really is not a good comparison in this situation since its value is really in its completness and rarity. Even then to get values on all the models might take a while since the snapon issues do not appear as often as most models. Of course you might wish to sell them individually since frankly all together they should bring a fairly good price and therefore limit the amount of people who will persue it. Also remember an (example) SP-1 in a set like this and duly marked should bring more than an unmarked model or even a marked one by itself. I would suggest a reserve of 350 to 500 or more. If you have the right interest it may do real well. If you put a higher reserve you can always lower it if you wish, should you have to relist . Good luck whatever you decide. It is a dandy set. It woud be nice if you could post a pic I am sure some of the people here may never have seen this grouping. LT PS For Mr Planter todays riddle what does Mr Planter eat? Answer animal crackers but only the elephants. You see that is what is good about the internet in the real world I could have gotten stoned to death for a joke that bad.

I have only seen a few individual Snap-On pieces. And like most private issues of later Schrades, they usually go for far less than their value IMHO. MATCO and NAPA are two more. Sears Craftsman is another. I don't understand the logic behind the buyers reluctance to pay as much or more for these private issues as for production pieces. They are quite interesting and much more rare than even a Ducks Unlimited issue. The whole set, as LT pointed out, should fetch a healthy price, but it would also take an educated buyer to bid it. Or a specialty collector, as has been pointed out to me before here, like the NRA, John Deere or DU collectors. Please post a picture?
