I am primarily a collector/trader. I enjoy hunting down a knife almost as much as the knife itself. Over the last couple of years, ive managed to find every folder on my list (midtech/production). The last of these being the Les George VECP V3 I recieved in trade a couple days ago. I have literally come to a dead halt in trading because I cant seem to find anything else I'm interested in. I need a little help finding a new target. Ive come to REALLY enjoy frame lock folders in full ti around the 8-9 inch (overall) range, and I tend to enjoy midtechs more because they're easier to trade and I cant really afford customs. Stonewashed drop point blades on a classic, "all business" frame, or a pistol grip style handle are my true preference. Heres a list of a few knives that ultimately developed my taste. Not everything ive collected is listed here, but these were definitely the most influential knives ive had my hands on. Hopefully they'll provide a good template.

On a side note, I have been DROOLING over a Crusader Forge VIS-T non flipper for 2 years, but I cant afford the damn thing. Thats probably my ideal knife.

Strider SMF or SnG? Lots of variants to consider. And production is kinda sorta over ...

Shirogorov NeOn Lite is pretty awesome too (and 3.25" blade length).

The milled scales will make up for that! Super nice knife, best flipper I have. Just fly's out, more so than the 0452.

Liong Mah, Michael Zieba, Spyderco Slysz Bowie or Nirvana, Curtis F3?

Kicked around the F3 for a while. The pivot bugs me. The Liong Mah Warrior 1 looks pretty interesting though. Michael Ziebas pocket clip is a little strange on some of his models, but the Zeba/NCC Bold isnt bad. I love Spyderco for their functional designs, but I think ive kind of moved passed them.... MAN I sound like such a snob. Im sorry.

I dont know what it is about Striders that I dont like aesthetically. I have honestly tried to like his SNG and SMF models but I just cant. And I would LOVE to own a Shiro, but they tend to be slightly out of my price range.

I've got the Liong Mah Warrior 1 CF. It's an outstanding knife. Made by Reate, designed my Mah.

Agree the pivot on the F3 is a bit much. But, I really like the F3 Compact. Just haven't found the right deal on one yet.

Also agree on the clips for Zieba. Some of them are a bit "game of throne'ish" ?

These are my recent Ti pickups. 850 is probably my favorite ZT, like butta.

^If that Lionsteel had a thumbstud instead of a hole, id be all over it! Love that design otherwise. The texture looks amazing^

A Southard Tolk mid tech or McGinnis Valve Pro Line would be a possibility, you've covered about all the other mid techs. They are at the top end of pricing for a mid tech though.

With the style you are describing it's gonna be hard to beat that large sabenza 21. The CRK is the ONLY knife I have found that has ZERO blade play, without that ever changing. Every other I've had starts out that way, but soon developed a tiny tiny bit of side to side. And that may be ok for some... if I were you, I'd get your name engrave on that sabenza 21 consider it about as good as it gets. There are no better... some defenetly as good.... but none better. That being said, dont ever stop the hunt! Its the greatest hobbie of all time. Only my opinion of course good sir

I'd track down a Millit. Either the max evolution or the torrent. Whichever you fancy.

Or maybe a titanium Freeman 451 flipper.

That max evolution is very interesting. Between that, the Southard Tolk (frag edition), and the Liong Mah Warrior 1, I have some research to do for sure. You guys have given me plenty to salivate over! :D

I say buy nothing.

Save up a bit and get that Crusader Forge!
I speak from experience. I only buy 2-3 knives a year max. The wait makes you appreciate it that much more!

Some nice knives in that list, and also some real duds...
Of course, opinions vary widely here.
I am awfully fond of the Brad Southard AVO, the smaller brother of the Tolk.
I carried this AVO for two yrs and loved it.

Why don't you sell some of your collection and use the funds to buy custom or higher end knives?
