The knife in the pic is not mine, but it's the same model.
I want to get some new handle scales made for my
ESEE 4. They would go all the way to the beginning of the
sharpened edge, point A, as opposed to stopping just past point B. The reason being: I would consider the 4 a 4" blade
due to the use of a finger choil. But as I understand it, most
areas will measure by the farthest end of the handle scales.
So by getting some new scales, just a little longer, preferably
still shaped basically the same, with the additional length
also shaped like point B so it would still lock into the original sheath right and be basically a mix between a choil and a sub-
hilt, I could still carry my favorite blade. With no legal concern.

MOST of the cops here in my area are pretty cool and wouldn't ever bother me about it anyway. But better to ere on the side of caution right?

Problems is, I don't know where to get such handle scales.
Anyone here wanna take up the challenge? Or know who could/would?

Ideally, black or orange. Micarta, or G10. Form fit to
the shape of the grind where it gets to the beginning of the edge. And would cover just the very first .1" or so of the edge.

Not sure if I may be asking too much on this one, or how much it might cost. If it is out there to be had though, I'd
sure like to find it, and I figured the great community here
at BladeForums would be the best people to ask for help.

Well, I guess that's about it. All input/comments/suggestions more than welcome. Thanks for your help everyone.

Bumping a thread less than an hour after you created it? For shame.

Anyhow, plenty of makers on here that can hook you up with custom scales for an ESEE 4.
Do a search or check out the makers area.

lol. cpurcell, are you familiar with the difference between AM and PM?

I did look through the makers section, but I found nothing quite like what
I'm looking for. Hence why I started the thread, so that if any of them wanted to try and work with me on a new version, they could volunteer.
If you have seen any like I'm trying to find, a link would be appreciated.

If you see someone that is making scales for ESEE knives that you like the looks of you may have to approach them to make your special need scales. Many of these guys have as much work as they can handle and may not bother to look for work like this. Just a thought. Good luck, I hope you find what you are looking for. Be sure to post a pic for us to check out if you do.

Ebrguy: I'd have to guess that's probably good advice.
If I do find a suitable option I'll be sure to post it.
Thanks for the input guys.
