due to extenuating circumstances... the economy... i'm unable to shell out the cash for either of these blades. So, I'm asking BF members for some help.

the two knives are rinaldi's matrix (wharncliffe w/ slight recurve) and snody's deadringer (skeletonized wharncliffe in bg42)... both amazingly beautiful but about $75-100 out of my "comfortable" price range.

Any help you guys could offer on suggestions of similar quality/size/shape?

here are the links for the 2 knives

JPD- i really appreciate the quick reply. although i understand the merits of the ringed razel... it isn't quite what i'm looking for because of the lack in the point department. one of my favorite factors concerning the wharncliffe design is the ability to have precise cuts a la the pointy tip.

about the tusk... well, that's almost the perfect design... but, considering i will be using it as a pocket/neck knife... i'd really prefer a stainless steel due to my seemingly corrosive sweat/lifestyle.

Check out Dan Kosters K5 Karda you can get a skeletonized handle one for about a $100 usually but you might have to wait a few months

This one is not mine and is in cable damascus but you can get other steels I recommend 3V

Go to the For Sale section under fixed blades and look at the blades offered by PLMKnives if you want some handmade wharnies.
