I have been looking all over for a specific SOG knife. I believe it was possibly a rescue knife. It is supposidly able to cut seat beats and cut through glass (like car glass). I forgot its name. It was a few years back I saw it in an old catalog that I don't have any more. I have looked all over the internet for it and have not had any luck finding it. Is any one here familiar with this knife? Has it been discontinued?

Thank you

You might have the wrong manufacturer. When I worked for SOG, I had a folder of every single brochure SOG ever printed and was familiar with all their products (past and present). I don't recall any knife/tool being advertised as able to "cut glass." The only "seat belt cutter" SOG has ever produced was the add-on "Seat Belt Cutter that bolted into their multitool series.

Sorry I wasn’t of more help.

there are quite a few awesome rescue knives out now. i especially like the ones from Spyderco and Benchmade. both can cut seatbelts with ease, i've tried them. the Spyderco Rescue 93mm is my pick. and i don't think it's possible to cut glass with a knife...i think only a laser could do that, but you can certainly break it with any of the rescue knives! who would need to cut glass in a rescue situation anyway? maybe you heard wrong... most rescue knives are advertised with the ability to easily cut fiberglass, which they can do.

Are you sure it wasn't a MOD, I know one of theirs has a seat belt cutter and I think a glass breaker. Not sure which model but I will check their website and find out.
Lagarto

edited to add: Just checked the MOD site (www.mastersofdefense.com) and the CQD Mark I claims to have a cord/seat belt cutter and a glass breaker which could be used to remove windows. Don't know if that was what you are looking for, but it might fit the bill if you can afford to pay what they're asking.

If you want something that can be used as a rescue knife that can cut seat belts and break glass, try searching for the MOD Mark I. The thing is huge. Also try the Microtech Socom With Seatbelt cutter or the SOG Trident Folder. You really don't need a glass breaker on a knife, thats why there are batons and guns and the dynamic entry tools hehe. Also, the Smith and Wesson Rescue knife would work. Along with the Colt Rescue Knives by United Cutlery.

The MOD is going to be the most Expensive
Microtech next
SOG Next
Smith and Wesson and Colt are Tied in terms of prices.
