Need help finding someone to grind my blades.

Good afternoon,

I have completed the prototypes of two different designs that are planned for Mid-Tech production. I already have buyers and retail locations waiting for the first run of knives to be completed. I have all the steps in this process set except for one.

I was planning on using Carson Machine and Tool to grind down the blades, however they are running 6 weeks out, and I need to get them ready before the holiday season starts. Are you guys familiar with any other companies out there that do the same kind of work that Carson does? I would really appreciate any assistance I can get.

It sounds like you're looking for a fairly large number of blades, and I simply wouldn't be able to meet your schedule if that's the case. There are not very many companies who own the machines needed to grind blades and who do OEM work. Actually, Carson is the only one I've ever heard of in the USA. The NC controlled machines are made by Siepmann or Berger in Germany and you're looking at a quarter million $ to get set up for production. If you find anybody else in the States, I'd really like to know about 'em! Five weeks lead time doesn't sound bad and I've only heard very good things about Carson.
