Hi, I've tried numerous forums with no help and someone finally referred me to this one. I'm looking for this knife block.

I've had no luck in finding this thing and if anyone here could help me it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Found this on one webpage:

You can’t buy this Knife Block, designed by Raffaele Iannello, from Vice Versa—they aren’t the buying sort of catalog—but you can lust after it all the same. The best meat is murder, after all

But then again on a different site:

March 6, 2005 This arresting image originated in 2003 when 22 designers faced off in the Good Luck Design Exhibit, held in Milan during the International Furniture Exhibition 2003. The theme was fortune, magic and lucky charms but with his project, Raffaele Iannello chose to probe the world of black magic with this knife set and distinctive holder. The striking result has gone through several iterations and is now to be produced in commercial form by Viceversa, so we guess Raffaele was lucky after all. The final Voodoo Knife set will be released in the near future at Viceversa.

Maybe its not released yet.

That is really neat! I think I'm going to carve me one. If it comes out good I'll post pictures.

Googling it, there seems to be no lack of buzz about it - and every blog that mentions it is chock full of comments asking where people can buy one. Nobody seems to be selling any. I've seen this kind of thing before where a guy comes up with something that everybody wants but for some reason decides not to bother marketing it.

"Hey, I have this free license to print money... Naaah, too much trouble."

i got an email from a distributor today about this "knife-block". 90days and they'll be selling them in North America. im excited to get my hands on one although its probably not going to be cheap.

Yup. Molded plastic. About fifty cents worth of material. I'll bet it's three parts. The base and the head are trivial. You could do them in a plywood mold if you wanted to. But, the expected volume is high, so it's worth cutting steel. You'd do both parts in one mold. A ten-cavity job for those simple pieces might cost $25,000. The body is more complex. I think there'll be at least three slides and a couple of lifters on that mold. Two cavities for $50,000. So, it's seventy-five grand into the molds. Let's run 100,000 pieces for our first run. That's $5000 for materials. Maybe $5,000 for setups. Maybe $10,000 for handwork to assemble them in China. $10,000 for packaging. $10,000 to put 'em on the boat over.... $125,000 for 100,000 pieces. Sell 'em for what? $30/each? Profit: 28.74M$.
