Sorry about the vague subject, and I have an equally strange request. I got a great deal on some Knoll overhead file bins for my office (brand new and MSRP is $2800.00...I paid $21!). The problem is that they are HEAVY. They are designed to fit on the top of the walls of a cubicle panel, but with the proper hardware they can go right on the wall, too. What I need, basically, is 7 or 8 custom pieces of hardware to be made. I tried some kokey stuff from Lowe's but the things are too heavy. I would need 1/8" thick steel or iron or something with two L-bends in it, so the main body of the hardware goes flush against the wall, then an L-bend away from the wall, and a quick L-bend bak upward so the hardware finishes parallel to the wall. A drawing would help, I know, but I'm just fishing for some help! They don't need be real big. 1/8" thick, 1" wide stock would be plenty, with maybe 4" length for a couple of 1/4" screws in the wall. I've thought of other options and this is all I can come up with. The problem is I can't do it myself, so I need to outsource the job! Only finish work required would be to smooth the side that goes against the wall. Maybe even someone with a big press could knock these out easily. Any takers with an estimate?

Chiro, It sounds easy enough to make. I could use a picture with deminsions though. Email me if you are still in need of someone to help.

You should try a local welding shop. That is what they do and would probably have some of the flat bar that could be made into the shape you want. You could even drill the holes yourself to reduce the cost some.

Mike, thanks for the link....I'll take a look. The problem is I don't think Knoll even makes what I need. The boxes I bought are intended to mount on hardware that fits in the cubicle panels. I'm trying to mount them directly onto the wall. Thanks, though!
