I'd like to bring the edge of my BK2 all the way down from the spine, getting rid of the factory edge, but have never done anything like that to a blade before. What is the best way to go about this?

I would like to grind it from the flat, down to the edge, getting rid of the secondary bevel, so that it is completely flat ground.

I would hesitate to go to a full zero flat grind. I think you may find that you have some durability problems on the edge!

Take it down to .010" and then put a slight secondary bevel on it and I think you will be happy.

If you want a true zero edge I would recommend a zero ground convex edge or a scandi grind.

Just my .02

I looked into what you said, and I believe that scandi grind accurately describes what i would like to do. My knife terminology is sadly lacking.

i have some pictures that will help show you how to put a scandi edge on or if you want to put a convex edge on you can do that too. if its a new knife and you want to go with the convex edge, i would slowly work it down to a convex edge so you dont take life out of the knife edge. over time a convex edge will form.
