Need help ! How do I refinish my 01 blade.

Hi guys. I received a new knife a couple of days ago. It is a Ray Mears designed Bushcraft knife that I had been wanting for a while.
It came to me after 15 days shipping time with the knife in the sheath, with no oil or wax or anything protecting the blade and guess what, it had the beginnings of rust spots all over the blade. I would send it back to the maker except that the maker is in England and it would take forever to get it back. I need to refinish the blade and I am not exactly sure whats the best way to go about it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to your local hardware store and buy a tube of Flitz and give the blade a good rub down with it. As long as it's just spots of surface rust the Flitz should remove it nicely. If you can't find it locally you can buy it from all the knife supply outfits online.
