Hi,

Many years ago my old man gave me an old combat knife and, after coming across it recently when I moved, I decided to try and find out more about it. I've spent a significant time looking into it online but can't find any information whatsoever about this particular knife and was wondering if anyone on here might know anything about it.

I'm sorry for the really low resolution pictures. The only camera I have on me is my mobile phone. Should be able to get a better camera tomorrow and can upload better pics if needs be.

Any help would be much appreciated.

On the side of the blade it has printed

"Muela COM Molibdeno Vanadio"

Obviously I know it a Muela knife but I can't find any like it online

Yeah I know it's a Muela Knife and i've looked through pages of them but I can't find this one in particular one anywhere. Never mind, thanks anyway.

those were made in the mid to late 80s, and marketed as a military tactical knife. mid 50s price range. i don't recall the steel at the moment other than it was hard to get to hold an edge.

take it easy

I searched through a recent Muela catalog, but couldn't find it.
The sheath has that Vietnam era bayonet look which isn't too common.

The closest I've found is the COM G16. Same blade and handle shape, but rubber half guard. Sheath is similar aswell.

If I were you I'd send the manufacturer an e-mail. manufacturas@mmuela.com

That knife is from the Muela, a spanish knife company. Could be used as a hunting knife or just for fun. Doesn´t seem to be used a lot (just because of the photos)...

Kind regards...

Yeah I think it may be the first in the COM series. I know my old man had it for at least 15 years so it could well be from that time period. I'll send them an email now. Thanks for the help and thank you everyone else who tried to help. If I get a response from them i'll post it on here just in case any of you are curious.
