I was wondering if I could borrow some of your knowledge and expertise to identify a knife.

A buddy of mine is trying to unload some of his many many many pocket knifes and was wondering if I'd be interested in a J.A. Henckels pocket knife for some quick money. I am familiar with J.A. Henckels and their legendary knives... But before I buy this particular knife, I want to know more about it... It looks antique/vintage but I've been doing simple google searches and poking around the internet looking for a comparable knife to gauge the value/monetary worth.. and I haven't been able to find a single one that looks like it. It doesn't have any other markings except the company logo medallion, and on the blade is etched J.A. Henckels Germany.

If anyone could help me out with a date.. maybe a model number... an estimation of what I should pay for it, I'd appreciate it!

Hi Murph -

Not particularly old, and not particularly valuable -

Welcome to the forum! This forum has a rule that does not allow non-paying members to ask or be provided value information.

You did come to the right place though, and you have an interest in pocket knives so have a look around.

Your picture shows a knife that has been well loved, with wear on both blades and much smoothing on the scales.

It's a nice pocket companion, and a quality made knife.

I apologize for not reading all of the rules.. I just assumed they were the usual "don't be offensive" type. I will go back and read them thoroughly.

Thanks for the information and reply!

While I cannot give you a value, I can tell you that eBay is your friend.

Hey Murph, be aware that Boker, a Solingen giant, made a lot of knives for Henckel's, and that knife looks a lot like a Boker copperhead. Not a bad thing, Boker is a good company that makes very good knives. From the looks of the knife I thin it is a Boker contract copperhead.
