I just picked up a knife from a woman whose late husband collected knives. I'd like anyone to take a shot at identifying it, letting me know what it was used for, it's approx. age and value, etc. Here are the specs:
Brand - Puma from Solingen
Overall Length - 10"
Blade - Fixed, drop-point, 5-1/2", painted black (about half is worn off), false edge on front 1/3 of top of blade
Sheath - metal, black, with spring-clip, leather ring around blade to protect crosspiece from sheath
Handle - Wood; corkscrew, leather punch, can opener and flathead screwdriver in handle, "swiss-army knife"-style

I've scanned the knife and sheath and can e-mail the photos to anyone interested. Let me know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could you post some pics of it on this forum?

I'd like to post picture, just don't know how. Still kind of a neophyte when it comes to this computing thing. My photo is already saved as a JPEG file, but don't know the next step. Any help?

Go to www.photopoint.com and post the jpg there (you'll see directions there) and then link to it here -- click on "UBB code" under the posting window for directions on that.

It's easier than you're probably expecting.

WOW! That's pretty interesting. Somewhat like a fixed-bladed Swiss army knife! COOL!

As for identifying it... not a chance for me. But I like it!
Here is my shot at linking it for you...
Well, that didn't work... let's try this...

Sorry it turned out so big...

Thanks for the help Rockspyder. The woman that give it to me let me have my pick of some old Imperials and straight razors of her husband's, but I found this buried in a toolbox under a bunch of old screwdrivers. There was also an old fixed-blade hunter that looked like a well-used Marble's or Western, but it didn't have any stamp that I could find. Anyone know if that might be worth grabbing as well?

BTTT, because I really want to hear what more people have to say about this knife.

I think you actually did that right, Kirch; photopoint is having some problems right now. (They'll probably get it straightened out soon ... they've grown very fast lately and it's not surprising they're having some growing pains.)

That's a fascinating knife! I'm sorry, I can't help either ... I hope somebody can.
