Need help identifying grandfathers old fixed blade

Recently found his old knife after decades of being buried under junk in a 5 gallon bucket in his old barn. The blade is so worn out that all I can make out looks like "ST" then space "Cut"
I guess was cutlery. On the other side it looks like "X-5" Thanks in advance for any help!
 
I cannot see the pictures but I'm thinking probably Western cutlery.

I use ibb myself. When you want to insert a photo, right click the pic on ibb and select view image. You need a URL that ends in .jpg, .gif, etc.
