When I was a kid, my uncle gave me a Browning folder with 3 blades- a gut hook, a saw, and (I think) a clip blade. It had elk scales and brass bolsters. I got it for Christmas in the early 90's, and it got stolen around 2002. Probably not worth much, but I would like to get one to replace it. Anyone know how I can figure out the model of this knife? Thanks.

Browning doesn't make their own knives. Never have. So the models they offer tend to vary a lot over time. Tracking down an exact duplicate may be tough. My best recommendation would be to keep an eye on the auction sites and see if something similar turns up.

If you are OK with something similar but not exactly the same, Google is your friend.
"browning knife with gut hook and saw"

Look for Browning model 524. Locking upswept clip blade, saw, gut hook with cutting edge.

I had that same knife and some a-hole stole mine also!

The Browning 524 was made by Ichiro Hattori for Browning in Aus8.

I'm not even the OP, but, dang, that was some good digging. Fits the description 1:1.

I would like to note that this model is available on the secondary market. It has, however, been discontinued.

Look for "Browning Big Game II BR524"

The knife pictured here is a model 504. It has a European style gutting blade with a knob on the end. The 524 is similar but has the more familiar gut hook instead.

You are right. the photo is a 504. The 524 below looks as you described.
From the limited detail given by the OP, it could be either model.

You guys are awesome! It is definitely the Browning 504. I'll have to get one. What are the chances it's the one I had originally?
