I bought a very interesting knife at a going out of business sale. It's a Camillus knife with leather case. All metal, lockback. I was told it was used in a war, more specifically by Texans. It has a rope design on it with an oval in the middle for the engraving of a name. I am at college right now so I can't get a picture or look at it in my hand. Does anyone know the story behind this knife or how much it is worth? Thanks!:)

Maybe somebody can guess. As for me, I'd need some more info. BTW, welcome to the forums!:)

Based on your description, your knife sounds like a model #47 "Longhorn" LOK-BACK knife. This model was made during the 1980's.
If you e-mail me your postal mailing address, I will send you copies of a catalog sheet showing this knife.
