Need help identifying maker and age of axe head I found

found this axe head halfway underneath a dumpster while at a customers house it has the word champion stamped on it I figure that would mean plumb or Kelly works from what I've read and watched but I had only recently started to even consider what it would be like to pay more than 49 dollars for a axe one day before I found it but that being said it's lighter than my mal and splits like mad so as long as it isn't so worthless I owe money for finding it I'm good with whatever we find out lol thanks in advance for any help

Well you found it just in time, nice axe.

It's a Kelly or True Temper not Plumb

Thank you lol do you have any idea what decade it came from?

I can't know for sure but the stamp and finish is similar to ones I have that match up pretty well to the description in the 1938 catalog. Intermediate grade with a polished bit, painted head. Where as first grade was finished all over.
