Hey everyone, new to the forums here... I just got a new knife and Im having trouble w/ its identity. To me, it definately looks like an old school KA BAR. However, I am far from an expert on the subject... From what little Ive found so far it doesnt match up to a lot of the specs. Im guessing its a reproduction of some sort, but Im not sure... The stamp on the bottom of the blade says
_______
Camillus
_______ <---------Pretend theres no space there
New York
U.S.A.

There are no markings on the opposing side either (like USMC or anything like that), from what I can see, although the blade is pretty beat up edgewise. Theres probably no way I could make it functional again with just a stone. Ill see if I can put up some pictures although I dont have a very high res camera at the moment... Just my cell phone... Anyone got any info? Thanks!

Sounds like the fighting/utility knife. It isn't Kabar made, Camillus made it. I'd post some pictures to be fully identified. I'm assuming it is Vietnam/post...

Lots of companies have made the Mk II fighting knife over the years, including case, kabar, camillus, & ontario.

Welcome to Bladeforums and the KA-BAR forum, glad you stopped in.

From the description, I would agree with the others.

There is a Camullus Collectors forum here, you might want to check out as well, to see if you can get that bad boy identified.

Good luck with your search.

Hey thanks everyone for the replies! Ill just copy and paste this in the Camillus thread, the only reason I put it here in the first place was because of how similar it is to the ka bar... Thanks again! :D
