Need help identifying old hunting knife was grandfathers

I hope this works. I do need an expert to look at this knife and give me some advice on what it could be. Again blade is so worn but I think I can see "CT" space then "Cut" other side appears to be "X-5"




 
West - Cut. It was Western's plain jane line, circa 1930's - 1950's. Same knife under Western's Premium line becomes the L-66.

Interesting! My first reaction was, "That looks like my Western L-66." Do you have any idea as to the differences between the West-Cut and Premium lines?

Bit more fit and finish work. Many times brass guards on the premium vs steel on the West Cut. Just little things.
