Need help identifying sword

Hello. We got this sword and the guy I got it from did not know too much about it besides it could be from 1905. He said it has a German handle with a Spanish blade. I don't even know if it is real. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Just to shoot from the hip, with an observation, that blade looks a bit short and straight for 1905.
 
I don't think it is a 1905, the blade looks a little too stout for a 1905. It miiiight be a 1904 Austrian saber. It looks a little suspicious, because the handguard looks very similar to a 1908 British Calvary saber. If there is a maker's mark, try to look that up.
