Need help identifying the makers mark...

It looks like the bottom line says "Glassport, PA.", but I can't make out what the top line says. It looks like it might start with a "M" and end in "EEL". It does have a unique outer boarder shape which looks like a octangle rod with a hole down the center. The hatchet is 6 1/2" from blade edge to hammer face a 3 7/8" long blade edge thickness at the hammer face is 1". Any information will help, thanks.

Sprinkle some talcum powder on the stamp and blow of the excess. That will sometimes allow you to read the stamp. John

I would hazard a guess that "EEL" is part of STEEL.
