Hey all, I'm very new to the collection of old axes, but my father-in-law got me into it when we would go antique-hunting. He is an avid collector/restorer with a very large knowledge of historical manufacturers but he just finished a restoration and for the first time found himself stumped.

I have provided a google drive link to the four picture I have, on the edge you can see the bottom half of the manufacturer's name, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it used to say. I think it starts with a "B" or an "S", and I'm fairly sure it ends with the letter "N".

On the opposite side you can clearly see the "S" maker's mark.

Has anybody seen this before or does anyone recognize it? I'd love to help my wife's dad solve this mystery. Thanks!

Looks like DEMON, which was a brand from Kelly.

An example from an old auction listing:

Holy cow! Thanks so much Steve Tall! This is EXACTLY what it is!

Mystery: Solved.

It appears that its so worn that the Kelly markings are almost completely faded, but the closer you look, the more you can decipher against your provided example.

Thanks again!
