This is a custom Busse knife.
The blade length is approx. 6" and overall length is approx. 10".
The bolster looks to be made of green micarta and I do not know what type of wood was used for the handle.
The set pins in the handle are brass with a decorative design.

Any help in identifying the family of Busse knives that this knife is based on would be much appreciated.

Looks like a batac variant. Swedged. Grey g10 with maple bolsters?? Thats my guess

Hello! Welcome to the Busse Forum!

Cool knife, looks like a black G10 bolster. As to the wood, only Garth can say for sure. The knife is a Custom Shop Badger Attack Tac variant.

With a 6 in blade would it be a Btac or SJTAC? 10 in OA length maybe more the Btac. What wood was used is hard to tell, looks a little like figured maple.

On my screen the bolster looks more gray or OD G10. I don't think Busse has ever used solid gray G10 so most likely OD.

I think it would be cool if Busse would laser engrave the model and year made on the spine above the handle on on the end of the pommel.

Definitely looks like an OD G-rexed batac variant to me. Beautiful!

OD-G-Rexed i am certain - i have that same material and finish on my CS KZ...

With gear that's relatively recent why not just contact the manufacturer. Many years ago I contacted Remington Arms with models and serial numbers to find out ages of guns of theirs that I have and they dated them to the exact month and year all the way back to 1970.

Firearms companies have to keep the records on the guns. Other companies do not, still may be able to find out some stuff but not a for sure thing.
