Hi, First time poster and knife novice - requesting your expertise. I am inventorying all my army stuff after leaving the service and came across this blade that I was able to obtain while in the sand box. It is a lot like the BKT companion that is made by K-Bar right now, but it has a serrated edge. On the box there is a NSN number and I was able to use it and get the info below. It has never been used and has all the accessories (a sheath, a box, a CLP cloth with Camillus cutlery printed on, and a Camillus business card) . So My questions are what is it? and what is it's value? The blade’s engraving is “BKT Companion, camillus, NY, USA“. Any help is greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.

Phil or Tom may know more about this knife.

What it appears to me is that it is one of the original Becker BK2 with serrations. I have not seen one with serrations before.

Camillus was the original manufacturer of the Becker line before they went out of business. Kabar is the new maker of Beckers.

Was this knife issued to you, or was it purchased in the PX/NX/BX stores?

Nice knife. I would like to have one like it.

A Camillus Becker BK2, as orvet posted.

IIRC the serrated blade was a special version which was sold only to the military,
though some ended up in the civilian marketplace.

It is a BK2-SG.
SG denotes Serrated Government.
Sold directly to the military, hence the National Stock Number.

Thanks for your service Casio, & welcome to Bladeforums!

Great knife Casio, thanks for posting it.
Thank you as well for your serving our nation.

Welcome Home and Semper Fi,

Dale

Phil,
Thanks for giving the military info on this Becker.
I suspected that was exclusive to the military. Nice addition to a great pattern.
