Okay, you experts here goes, in the early 70's while a kid, I bought a hatchet at a store, the head was red, and was a well known brand, that also made good quality axes as well. It was not a Collins I don't believe. Anyway yesterday the handle finally broke, and I am wanting to see if I can order straight from the company. It is good quality steel, and you can sharpen this thing razor sharp, so I really don't want to get rid of it. Local hardware store has a replacement handle but it is too big for the eye of the blade. thanks

Well, I would say you probably have a Plumb hatchet, or a True Temper.

Good luck finding a handle that will be an exact fit, more than likely you will have to work at it.

Maybe it's from Council Tool, they've been around for over a century.

They don't have a replacement handle for this one at their site.
You'll probably have to shave one down to fit.

No it is not either one of those, but good news I found a company in Missouri that has handles for everything, I went by their measurements and got a scout handle, and put it one, it fit perfect. thanks for you input.
