My friend called me last night and told me they were having a yard sale sort of thing at his church and he knew I was a knife person and he had seen an older lady was selling 4 knives that belonged to her father. He described two of them to me and I was interested so I had him get them both for me. One is an old looking Boker tree brand pen knife and the other is a Fight'n Rooster stockman. I was woundering if you all could help me gather a bit more info on these knives. I already have looked around on the net and bladeforums some and can place the rooster between 1982 and 1994 because it is stamped Frank Buster Celebrated Cutlery Germany. I have little to know idea about the boker.
I would really like to maybe try to clean up the rooster some, possibly sharpen and oil it up and carry it a little. As you can see in the pictures its kinda rusted in places specially on the spay blade. How can I clean it up and get the rust off. Also what kind of steel is it, Im thinking stainless of some sort because it hasn't patina'ed at all just some rust. What do yall think
