I want to buy a folding knife that can withstand some punishment and I want to hear your suggestions.

I like the cold steel's AK-47,but there are a lot of knives out there.....

Thanks in andvance.

Lot's of folders can take punishment. First, some questions:

What is your budget?

Do you know specifically what types of "punishment" the knife will endure? (prying, batoning, hacking, verbal abuse, etc)

What are the carry laws in your area?

Do you have a preferred carry method?

Do you have a preferred style of folder?

*Edit* My gut reaction is, Spyderco Manix. Partly because I'm a Spyderco kinda guy, and partly because it is one beast of a knife.

I want a knife that i can rely on whenever i'm outside. As for carry laws,I live in a state(Croatia) that is not that stict when it comes to that. The max that i would spend on this knife is about 120$.

HK 34 from BenchMade. I am not sure that will pull it up in a search so you might try HK14200 also.

Spyderco makes the Manix and Mini Manix that are both heavy duty lock back style folders that meet your requirements.

If more money is in mind look at the Zero Tolerance 0200 for the toughest liner lock I've seen or perhaps the Hossom Retribution small or large folder. If more money still is what you had in mind pushing $300 look at the Zero Tolerance 301 or 302 folders. Both are tough heavy duty folders.

Steve, would you say that the 0200 is a stronger knife than the Retribution1? If so, why?

The Spyderco D’Allara Drop point would be a good choice for a rugged knife as well.

Ontario knives Retribution 1 or the smaller Retribution 2. Another great knife would be a Buck 110, either the standard for $30-$40 us or one from their custom shop for about $100.
