I own several slip-joints, tons of fix blades, but I'm lacking in the folder department. What should I buy Benchmade, Strider ? I'm a lefty, so it needs to be lefty friendly.

Thanks - Ron

I'm also a "lefty", and I'm 100% sold on Benchmades! That IS one company who DOES realize that us "lefties" carry folders now and then.

A GREAT knife to start with would be with a Benchmade Griptilian or Mini-Griptilian. If you want one that's alittle bit more expensive (it has G-10 scales with dual stainless liners and 154CM steel), but is a TOTALLY excellent folder, the Benchmade 710 (or its' smaller "brother", the 705) is the one for you.:).

I just thought I'd chime and suggest........Sebenza!

Sebenzas are great if you can afford them(i can't :( )Any BM Axis lock is exellent and affordable.

I have a Sebenza and Benchmade Axis locks, the Axis locks are my EDC, the Sebenza keeps my drawer company.

Got a BM 921s about 2 weeks ago, hasen't left my pocket yet.

carried a Spydie frn/se Endura for about a year on my left side.

I vote for the Sebenza. At the risk of incurring everyone's wrath, Benchmades don't do any thing for me. I know they are well made knives and I have Benchmade knifes - liner locks, not the axis models - but I was never tempted to use one as an edc except for the Emerson tanto CQ7. I have carried a spydie as an edc for over 10 years. First the worker and then the police. But unless you can find a left handed model police, now discontinued, stick with the Sebenza.

I can vouch for that lefty Police model. I've had one for 10 years or so and it's sweet. You can find them if you watch ebay. Another Spyddie I've become interested in is the Chinnok II. It can be easily transformed to lefty. Looks to be a great design.
The other knife I always have on me is a Buck 110FG with a BG-42 blade and a one-armed bandit. That works quite nicely for lefty carry. I find it a delight to use and don't mind the weight at all.

I've had an RJ Martin Avenger in left-handed that is on the block for a great price. Solid frame lock - this thing is a veritable cutting machine - you could open a deli with this! :)
