need help making a battle hawk

I am new to metal work and making hawk's but i was hoping that someone could be give some direction in planing and making a battle hawk. I have the equipment but i cant seem to find the plans needed or much info on steel to use.

i have the use of a shop at a technical school. anvil hammers welders grinders ect... is there any speical equipment that i should look into getting i guess you would be the guy to ask since you are a knife maker.
 
If you have the means to forge you're half way there, making or buying an eye drift is almost esential. You can find one at kane and son for 25.00( www.kaneandson.com ) Otherwise its all a matter of how refined you wish to make it.
