Hey guys,

I carry a Fenix PD30 R5 with me on a daily basis right now but I'm looking to upgrade to something better in all regards (Throw, Spill, and Lumens) but still relatively compact with a pocket clip.

I've currently got several flashlights on my list and I need to narrow it down to one.

The list as it currently stands:

1. 4Sevens G5 Maelstrom
2. Fenix TK45
3. Olight M20S
4. Surefire 6PX Tactical

I believe there are a few that I'm forgetting off the top of my head.

New suggestions are also welcome.

My budget for this is ~$100.

Thank you in advance!

Those are all fairly large flashlights, might be difficult for EDC.

I have at Quark 123^2 Tactical and that works very well for EDC yet is very, very bright and has a pocket clip. Might be worth a look.

I don't have any experience with any on your list, but they all have good reputations.

I'd go with the Olight. Indestructible flashlight--it's survived trips down to honduras, etc. I like the button manipulation on the m20s too. You can also use rechargeables with it. PM me if you want more details.

Don't know how much bigger you want to go but this is the TKLL at 285 lumens. $79.95

You can go bigger and get the new TK45 at 760 Lumens. $149.95

I get this question a lot, and my recommendation is usually the M20S. The big reason is that it is the only one that can be operated with one hand, including changing modes. If throw is really important, the Maelstrom is the best of the bunch, but its head is bigger than the rest of them.

I have to 2nd the vote for the 4Sevens Quark 123. It is really small, ridiculously bright on max, strobe will cause epileptic fits, has tons of accessories, tail stands, works great as a lantern when on med with a Fenix diffuser, and you can swap out the body for $20 and load it with AA's as well.

+1 for the Quark 123.

So what'd you end up getting?

if you are still in the market for an edc light, look up macs custom edc light. i have the aluminum version with the titanium clip. puts out 700 lumens on 1 cr123 sized battery.

Well I have alot of different Lights, but for EDC you might try the 4 Sevens Quark Turbo, or the 4 Sevens Maelstrom which is a great EDC light or even the Olight M21...Hopes this helps.

I would recommend looking into an RA Lights EDC... my favorite light! I always have one on me. If you don't like that my second choice is a Surefire E2L.

I love my Fenix PD-30 it is sooooo nice but the only thing is that the batteries cost a pretty penny!!! well at least with my budget. but i would say go with what makes you happy or has your own "cool factor" to it... have fun with it if you will carry it all day every day

I have limited knowledge on flashlights, (thank goodness... knife and gun obsessions drain enough money!) but the one I EDC is an ITP C-9. No pocket clip, but it fits nicely in the "knife pocket" on my cargos. Puts out a nice bright light, which is also adjustable down to dimmer to save on battery time. Handly little light to have.

Loves the HDS/Ra lights. Totally worth it. I have the 170 lumen tactical clicky and carry it every day.
