Hello all, I don't post in here very much but

Like the title relates, I need some assistance moding a Delica 4. I will be pruchasing one very soon, and I would like to immediately start with adding G-10 scales, and stainless back spacers (perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about here, LOL). Could all/any of you who have had these mods done suggest:

1) Where to purchase the parts?
2) If I have to/should have someone do the mods or would I have to do them myself?
3) Costs for parts or service? (I know this will vary)
4) What/if any are the pros and cons? (I know a one would be added weight, but frankly, I like knives with some heft so it won't bother me too much)
5) Anything to keep in mind or look out for if I do the mods myself?

If any of you wish to contribue to this and have suggestions on purchasing parts and those manufacturers are not allowed to be spoken of her, could you please PM the details? Perhaps some of you can point me in the right direction with other threads of this nature?

Also, post up some pics if you feel the desire to do so. I would love to see the mods.

Thanks for any and all contributions.

Do you already have the scales and are just looking for parts? Or do you need the scales too?

Most likely, if you decide to purchase scales, the makers will put them on for you.

Wilkins is now making G10 scales for a Delica 4. There are several different colors to choose from

I am looking to get all the parts, including scales.

Ok, thanks. Is that the only one?

There are several people here on bladeforums in the knifemakers section who make scales out of many different materials.

How skilled at machine work are you? Spyderco does not sell steel backspacers, or full liners, for the Delica, so your options would be either to: A. mill out whatever scale material you want to use to accept the nested liners and re-use the FRN backspacer - or - B. mill out whatever scale material you want to use to accept the nested liners and fabricate a metal backspacer out of steel, aluminum or titanium - or - C. fabricate full liners and a backspacer out of steel, aluminum or titanium - or - D. find someone capable of doing A, B, or C for you.

Thank you Deacon. I figured that would be the case. I have no machining experience and after scouring the interwebz have abandoned the idea of the back spacer. It would just be a pain in the backlock, if you know what I mean. :D

However, I'm still hopeful on the scales. I saw some foliage color G-10 that would be very nice.

We will see.
