Hey Guys, so I've been wanting to get an R6 for the longest time. I think I'm ready to purchase one with no top guard but I need some help on how to tell the custom shop how to ground it off. I've been looking at a lot of custom r6 without the top guard and I notice that it looks like the grounding was just done in a straight manner without proper shaping. I'm hoping to have that little hump, kind of what the ratmandu has (I hope you guys get the picture)

Anyway I saw this military overrun r6 with the top guard properly shaped. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...Works-Military-Overrun-R6-with-Cordura-Sheath

thoughts or advice?

I had owned and sold lionsteels M7 and GSO 7/7 but there's just something with the R6.

A little off topic: Considering the history of Busse and kins when they release limited edition knives, do they always follow it up with a CG version? I'm asking because I can't wait for the ratweiler CG to come out!!!!

You can just ask CS for a RMD-like thumb ramp. I believe Drummerboy has one with it.

I've seen a few bigger type ratmandu but I don't know if it was indeed a custom R6 or just a bigger ratmandu. I'd be happy to see drummerboy's R6.

There are bigger RMDs:
Prototype - (1 of 13, 1 of 12) bigger and convex blade,
RMDx - bigger, double guard, satin, convex,
Beefmandu - bigger, thicker & hollow ground, debuted at Blade Show this year.

And if memory serves, there was a thread with pics of custom shop R6 a while ago, have a look.

If you would like a thumb ramp like the RMD just make sure to put that in the description of what you want done. If you can find a pic that would be even better. I am sure that we can accommodate what you are looking for.

Sounds good! I emailed Trissy today and she sent me picture of it. also, does the edge geometry varies on each knife?

All of our knives are sharpened by hand so there can be some variance.

Sorry I wasn't clear regarding my question. I should have said primary grind. there's this youtube reviewer under the name whatfor5 where he reviewed 2 similar rodent solution but one of them has a thinner primary grind the other. also worldwood mentioned that his brotherhood ratmandu has a much thinner profile. and then there's other member's stating that most knives has an "axe" profile.

Some CS orders specifically request the edge to be thinned out.
There are some RSs that have been ordered flat ground rather than convex. I have one that was a satin hollow ground, don't remember if it was from a show or Ganza.
