I have the first 7" survival knife made by Walter Brend back in 1983. with this knife is the original sheath and certificate of authenticity written and signed by Walter and also notarized. This knife has been in my family for several years and just curious what it may be worth.

Thanks

Hello, and welcome.....

1. Call or e-mail Walter....for his retail cost.

2. Take a photograph of the knife and send it to Les Robertson: http://www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com/ and Bobby Branton: http://www.brantonknives.com/

They will give you the closest to "real" valuation there is.

Best Regards,

Vangoat,

Sounds like a 7" Model 2.

Does the knife have a double guard with black micarta scales?

I couldn't get a picture to post.

It does have a double guard. black micarta handle and phosphate coated. the blade has about an inch of sharpened edge on the top edge from the tip down and then has the jagged teeth for the next 3 inches or so. i am trying to figure out the picture thing.

HI Vangoat,

Yes, 7" model 2.

I owned the 8 1/2" and 10" version (both number 1's as well).

I had wondered where the 7" version was...now I know.
